the core of our business

Constellium’s business is intrinsically sustainable because the products we make enjoy all the properties of aluminium which contribute to a sustainable society. Thanks to aluminium’s unique combination of properties - light, strong, durable, infinitely recyclable - its use improves resource efficiency and reduces CO2 emissions.

Commitment to sustainability

Our company’s deep commitment to sustainability influences the business decisions we make, how we treat people, and the ways in which we create value. We conducted a Materiality Assessment and created a Sustainability Council containing representatives from all facets of our business. The council chooses targets, tracks our performance, and ensures accurate disclosure of sustainability data in alignment with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), and United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).

Commitment to the United Nations Global Compact

For the seventh consecutive year we support the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.

A value chain approach

The Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI), is a global, multi-stakeholder, non-profit standards setting and certification organization. It works towards responsible production, sourcing, and stewardship of aluminium, following an entire value chain approach.

As a founding member of the ASI, we actively helped launch its Certification program including Performance Standard and Chain of Custody Standard in December 2017. Our casting and rolling operations in Singen, Germany, have received the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) Performance Standard certificate in August 2019. It is an important milestone and recognition of our sustainability efforts.
