Wise Alloys Raises $25,000 for Victims of Terrorist Attacks
MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. Nov. 5, 2001 Combining $12,500 raised by Wise Alloys employees with its own matching contribution, the company has donated $25,000 to The New YorkTimes 9/11 Neediest Fund, Wise Alloys officials announced today.
Started as a way to help victims and victims families of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the fund-raising effort began on Sept. 14.
"You have all truly given from your heart and for that, we thank you," Wise Alloys Chairman David DAddario said in a letter sent to employees. "Although we know this donation cannot erase the hurt these victims are feeling, your heartfelt contributions will hopefully ease their concerns."
"I was touched by how quickly and generously our employees contributed to the fund," said Wise Alloys Vice President for Finance Sam Glasscock, who coordinated the effort.
